401(k) Rollovers

Please reference IRS guidelines to understand the potential tax implications. Funds must be deposited in your retirement account within 60 days from the date you receive your distribution.

  1. Open your most recent 401(k) statement, locate the custodian information and contact number — call the number on the statement.
  2. Once you are connected to a live person, indicate you would like to initiate a rollover of your 401(k).
  3. The 401(k) provider will walk you through the necessary steps and send your rollover check to their address on record (on rare occasions, providers will allow a digital transfer).
  4. Once you receive the check, please write on the back: "For deposit - IRA Account: XXXX-XXXX." Please mail the check to one of the addresses at the bottom.
  5. Your Compound team will confirm when we receive the check and proceed with investing your funds as planned.
